Philip Engelman's work has included the

companies from both here and overseas. His

international work has come from Europe, the

United States, the West Indies, Hong Kong,

Malaysia and the Middle East. He has also

acted for both Central and Local Government,

Trades Unions and the Official Solicitor. Many

GMC v Dr Hiew – Court of Appeal [2007] -

A case concerning the powers of the Court over a doctor’s suspension by the GMC.


Dr Malik v Waltham Forest NHS PCT and Secretary of State for Health – Court of Appeal [2007] -

A case concerning whether a GP’s right to work in the NHS is protected by the European Convention on Human Rights.


Simms v Conlon – Court of Appeal [2007] -

A decision of the Court of Appeal relating to a solicitors partnership dispute, and whether findings of dishonesty made by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal are admissible.


O’Brien and Hickey v Independent Assessor – House of Lords [2007] -

The case concerned the Hickeys’ claim for compensation from the Home Office in respect of their wrongful conviction for the killing of the newspaper boy Carl Bridgewater.
